Given the increasing encounters with law enforcement at peaceful protests, including police brutalities at the campuses of UC Berkeley and UC Davis, MSA West would like to strongly encourage anyone attending these protests to be mindful of your rights when dealing with police or any other law enforcement official. The SF Bay Area chapter of the National Lawyers Guild has put together a comprehensive two-page pamphlet (also attached to this email) with your rights listed as well as a number for their office.
MSA West supports the right of the American people to peacefully assemble as it is protected in our Constitution. As Martin Luther King, Jr. said, "the greatness of America is the right to protest for right."

MSA West is an organization comprised of Muslim Student Associations (MSAs) representing campuses across the west coast, and is a council of MSA National.
We are a cohesive coalition of Muslim Students united for the sake of Allah (swt) who aim to embody the concepts of unity, strength, and activism.
